’90 Day Fiancé’ spoilers tells that we all know how the story ends now, but watching the trainwreck play-by-play leading up to the final events is interesting, nonetheless. So how about Jihoon maintaining that he never cheated on Deavan?
In spite of him admitting that the pictures he had of naked girls were indeed selfies and that he did indeed put them to good use.. ahem, interpret that as you will, he also maintained that he had never cheated on Deavan, saying that he was ‘very pure, very innocent’.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: I don’t know about you but that made me giggle.
The man has hundreds of pictures of naked girls on his phone, all selfies from different women, regularly putting them to good use, and he still says he’s innocent. I don’t know about Jihoon but that’s not a definition of innocent that I’m aware of. Innocent is when there are no naked pictures of women on your phone after you’re married.
Innocent is when you can’t possibly imagine another woman in that way because she is not your wife and not the one that you’ve promised to love and cherish forever. Innocent is when you’ve established clear boundaries about what does and does not constitute cheating and do not cross those boundaries with each other.
Clearly, both Deavan and Jihoon needed to discuss what did and did not constitute cheating. I’m somewhat experienced with Korean culture and not once did I ever encounter the things that Jihoon and his friends are brushing off as mere ‘sexual desire’ when talking to any Korean people that I’ve met.
Clearly there could be a cultural difference there but that doesn’t make it any less hurtful to your partner. Also there is something different about when there’s selfies involved, sending someone a selfie implies that there is a sort of familiarity between people.
It’s different from say, a guy buying a copy of Playboy or Hustler, something that is meant to be consumed on a mass scale, rather than some girl on a dating app or on instagram personally sending them nudes or them liking and favoriting nudes of certain girls.
So I could definitely see where Deavan felt threatened. Maybe on a grand scale, Jihoon didn’t go out and have an affair or maybe he didn’t get in-depth with these girls when he was talking with them, but the fact of the matter is, he was fantasizing about other women while he was married to Deavan, and that’s not healthy for any kind of relationship.
So, that’s another problem with this doomed pairing. Deavan also brings up a good point, was he completely faithful to her after being separated for way more than 2-3 months at a time? Considering his past with his other girlfriend, it begs the question. Maybe this would explain the timeline of Deavan’s current relationship? Just food for thought. Stay tuned!!!
