’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers reveal that Alina Kasha recently got fired from Before the 90 days for her past racist posts that she had posted on her social media pages. It looked really bad, her dressing as Drake and then labeling herself with the N-word, inviting people to an N-word party, and so-on, posts that would offend your average person looking at her social media, even so they were posted in 2014 and she has said that in Russia the N-word doesn’t really have the impact that it does in the United States.
But you would still think that she would know that it wasn’t okay, considering how close she was with one of our own, Caleb Greenwood, however… it’s all on Alina this time.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Alina Kasha posts apology video
So she took to youtube to post her apology video. She at first said that she was contractually obligated not to say anything, but she felt that she should because of all the people that she hurt – good for her. She said that she was not out to make excuses or get attention for any of it, and that she was posting it on her youtube channel so that she had full control of the video in question and so it would not get deleted.
She said of her Drake post, that about a month ago she started reminiscing about her days in the US as an exchange student and thought it would be fun to share some pictures from 2010-2011 that she found on her computer, before instagram even existed and shared the picture in her stories.
She said the pictures were automatically synced from the russian social network VK to her instagram and the rest of her social media and that she panicked and deleted it from her IG entirely, but the original post was made on Nov. 4th 2015, however it got reposted a month ago to her stories.
She said of the N-Word she was actually attempting to quote Kanye’s song “Gold Digger” but failed because she couldn’t remember the exact lyrics so it was just sort of a riff on that, and not an attempt to racially slur anyone.
She maintains that she did not do blackface for the picture, but rather just drew a beard and eyebrows – that one we’ll let her have because blackface looks completely different.
She said that she had seen the mispelling of the N-Word across russian social media and thought that that was somehow a “better” term to use than the real word, but she didn’t realize back then that the actual term is a painful reminder of a world past.
When you don’t grow up with the same history, then there’s certain cultural things you don’t think about, we suppose. She says the Alina of 2022 knows that this word should never be uttered and we’re glad about that. She said of the “n-word” party she was invited to, she said it was an invite that she received on russian facebook (VK) and that at the time when she received it she did not realize how bad of a word it was.
She said that she thought it was something that could only happen in Russia, and that her FB friends who are mostly American Citizens did not bother correcting her.
It seems that Alina needs better American friends. She was under the impression that the N-Word was simply a cuss-word, something that you couldn’t say in front of a teacher or in a business meeting. She says that in Russia, the idea of race is very different and that while she doesn’t personally hate anyone, it doesn’t remove her from racist systems.
She says that in Russia there is racial discrimination and that in Russia there is a very similar term to the N-Word that simply means “black” to describe black people but that in Russia it doesn’t have the connotations that it does in the US, it’s not used as an insult.
She also said that it’s kind of rare to find black people in Russia, they exist, but they’re definitely a minority there. Lots of Russians have never even met a black person before and therefore, ignorance abounds. She says racism issues in Russia mainly affect those from central Asia and surrounding countries.
The Drake post wasn’t the only thing she addressed though, she addressed the post that had her dressed in what looked to be a hijab for a fashion shoot, saying that she was getting married and going to be the 134th wife… but said she did not mean to make fun of Muslim people and that she was thinking of the cartoon Aladdin when she made the post. She also said that the head covering used for the fashion shoot (which wasn’t her idea) was not actually a hijab either.
Alina kept stepping in it by going down the line and even defending her man crush Monday post where she meant to say if you knew of a Hugh Grant look-alike to let her know, but she totally ruined it by saying that not even his brother or nephews would do because his brother’s wife was ‘asian’ and the kids would all ‘look kinda asian’ she said she didn’t mean any offense to asian people when she said this but it just looked bad and yeah it does.
Really bad. (Did she think Caleb Greenwood looked like Hugh Grant? Inquiring minds want to know.) She apologized for the “shitpost” so we’ll at least accept that explanation for it.
People had also called her out for being ‘ageist’ in the post for simply expressing that she didn’t want to date someone who was 31 years older than her… but she says that the only reason she doesn’t want to date anyone that much older is because she feels they would be on a different level of maturity than her and… okay we can kind of see her point on the age issue.
The racism we’re still raising eyebrows over though, because she had previously spent a year in the US and knew that the word was a bad word – but it looks like her US friends failed her in that sense. She apologized… but we’re still going to hold her accountable. Stay tuned!!!
