It does seem as if the 90 Day Fiancé franchise has branched out to include more LGBTQI+ couples, but now they have started to add yet another twist. There is now a polyamorous couple on the show. Actually, they’re in a three-way couple.
90 Day Fiancé: The Shocking Couple
From what we have seen from TLC and the 90 Day franchise, it is clear that fans want more diverse couples. We first saw that with Stephanie Matto and Erika Owens on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days and then we saw it with Armando Rubio and Kenneth Niedermeier on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Now the franchise is bringing us this polyamorous couple on 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise.
90 Day Fiancé: A Polyamorous Couple
What does it mean to be polyamorous? According to Psych Central’s website, polyamorous means “Polyamory is a form of ethical non-monogamy that involves committed relationships between two or more people — typically romantic relationships. Essentially, being in a polyamorous relationship means that you and your partner have the option of dating other people. Polyamory is not the same as polygamy. Polygamy involves being married to more than one person at a time. Polyamory doesn’t necessarily involve marriage. Polyamorous relationships also are not necessarily sexual in nature, although they can be.”
Frankie, Abby, and Gaby have found themselves in a polyamorous relationship and we will see it unfold on the show. He first met them in Mexico and they have been in an open relationship for over ten years. When they met Frankie, they ended up having a threesome and now he wants to propose and move them both to the states.
When he got home, he continued to talk to Abby and they did a lot of video chatting. She claims that she loves him, but what happens when he goes back to propose to her? Will Gaby interfere with this or will this be a sister wife situation? According to the trailer, Gaby has no idea how Abby feels about Frankie and the fact that he wants to marry her. Will this cause her relationship to fail or will Abby be forced to choose one of them?
We will see a big fight between the women when it comes to Frankie. In one scene, Gaby is yelling at Abby and says to her, “We were two. We decided to include Frankie, and then he stabbed me in the back.”
