‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers have our favorites in Salem and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) is one of them, and he’s going through a real emotional wringer and the actor’s doing a great job, but we’re not buying into it.
With everything being so well done in this storyline the last few episodes, we should be feeling every bit of Eric’s anguish at losing his son to Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel), but it’s not translating.
The reason for us is it’s karma for Eric, and it’s a difficult pill to swallow.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Lack of faithfulness
It wasn’t too long ago when he and Nicole sat down with Marlena Evans (Diedre Hall) separately and admitted if Nicole’s baby was her and Eric’s they would’ve left their spouse in a heartbeat to be together.
The fact Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) and EJ would’ve been left out in the cold without a second thought by either of them didn’t seem to register as wrong to the pair, and the fact many fans don’t want Eric and Nicole together possibly played into that.
With the show’s shooting schedule being six months ahead, the writers can’t weight our reactions and change anything after a few weeks like with other shows.
As a result, we’ve been waiting for the pair to reunite since the beginning of this storyline, but the fact they knew and admitted in character what Sloan and EJ feared puts this in the karma category for Eric.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Ignoring the past
The funny thing is, ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers would love to feel for Eric as it’s a heartbreaking scenario, but thanks to that bit of history we can’t.
Of course, there’s every possibility the replacement writers ignored or want to pretend those scenes didn’t happen and hope fans have forgotten.
There are a lot of ways the storyline can still go, and we’re curious how it’ll finish playing out.
It seems obvious to us the writers are intent on completely destroying Eric and Sloan’s relationship, which is a shame. They were fun and brought the best out of each other just like EJ and Nicole.
But with Arianne Zucker leaving the show at the end of July and no word on whether Nicole was recast, we have a timeline of when she could leave with Eric and their baby or just herself and leave the baby with Eric.
