‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers are excited to see the show approaching 60 years on the air, and they’re gearing up for their 15,000th episode scheduled to air on Tuesday, December 3.

The show shoots further ahead than any of the other shows as they regularly film six months’ worth of episodes at a time.

It’s a great cost cutting measure, but it also means they’re locked into the storylines for that period and can’t react or fix something fans don’t like.

That kind of fluidity is often key to keeping fans happy and knowing what’s what, but it also means delays in saying goodbye to favorites after they pass away.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Celebration of Doug Williams and Bill Hayes

After John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis) passed away, it took the show roughly a year to reach the point where the character died and that opened up a long term mystery and vengeance storyline that’s close to wrapping up now.

It’s the same following Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) passed away on January 12, 2024, it’ll be almost a year until the show says goodbye to his character Doug on December 3, 2024.

While the show’s schedule is largely to blame, it’s a cool tribute to have them mourn and celebrate Bill and his character Doug’s life on the show’s 15,000 episode.

While it may not seem it at times, ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers think will be worth the wait just as it was with Victor.

The show’s producer Ken Corday has stated that he and the show’s head writer Ron Carlivati came up with the idea to celebrate Doug’s life during the monumental episode at the service where they said goodbye to Bill.

It makes it a bittersweet moment, but it’s good he’ll have a great on air send off.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Stars returning

While the show is getting ready to say goodbye to Doug and celebrate its milestone, many stars are returning to Salem for Doug’s funeral service, showing how beloved the character was.

One character we’re excited to see back is Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) as the actress left the show in 2020 and has only returned for a couple of short runs like the spin off ‘Beyond Salem: Chapter 2 and to help bring Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) back into the fold.

There were early reports that she wasn’t going to be there, but she arrived and it feels perfect for Doug’s sendoff since Hope is his daughter.

It’s also touching to see so many returning to pay their respects to the character and man behind Doug on screen as it’s a testament to the type of person he was.
