‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is over the moon that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) gave her back her half of the Metro Court.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Bobbie Gifted Carly With The Diner
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) mismanaged the hotel to death. Between the broken ice makers, cold breakfasts, and unhappy guests, Nina didn’t have the time to run the Metro Court properly.
Not to mention, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) has many issues with Nina that have made working conditions very uncomfortable.
Carly is happy to be back working with her bestie (well, 2nd bestie next to Jason), and she’s ready to return to work.
However, where does that leave Bobbie’s? Carly’s mother, Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman), gifted her the diner before she died.
Nina turned Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC, and Carly lost all her money and almost lost her house.
To help her get back on her feet, Bobbie sold Bobbie’s (then Kelly’s) to Carly for one dollar. Carly planned on repaying her mom, but sadly, she passed before she had the chance.
Bobbie’s represents so much more than a business for Carly. It represents her roots, familial ties, and the strong stuff she’s made of. How will she be able to run both businesses?
This is the problem that Nina had with the hotel because her baby was always Crimson, and she only wanted the hotel because it was Carly’s territory. She didn’t really want that hotel.
Some fans may argue that Nina intended to do a good deed for Carly and give it back to her after she lost it, but Carly wouldn’t have been in that position in the first place if it hadn’t been for Nina.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Laura Wright Offers Her Perspective
Carly probably wouldn’t have accepted the hotel back from anyone else but Jason. That much is obvious.
Laura Wright offered her perspective on why she accepted this gift from Jason after everyone who tried to help her get her hotel back. In a current interview with Soap Opera Digest, she explains,
“You know, when Sonny wanted to buy back the hotel for Carly, it was out of guilt because he destroyed their family. And she’d never take it from Nina, the woman who took her husband. And then, Michael, she didn’t want him to be involved in any way in case it came back to bite him with the SEC. She wouldn’t let Ned or Olivia gift it to her because she wouldn’t take it from her friend. But Jason is family in a whole different way.”
But that still doesn’t answer what will happen to Bobbie’s. The diner is a landmark and a legacy in that town. Carly wanted the residents of Port Charles to come there and have a good meal and feel at home.
With her running the Metro Court, she can’t possibly put her time and energy into making sure that Bobbie’s is a success.
Inheriting Bobbie’s was supposed to be the way that Carly would rise back to the top, and she wanted to do it on her own. It would have been more inspiring if her character had been allowed to do that.
