‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) hot pursuit to catch Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in a crime contravenes Robin Scorpio’s (Kimberly McCullough) long-time relationship with the mafia boss.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Was There When Anna Needed an Ally
Robin would not be so thrilled that Anna is actively trying to take Sonny down. Sonny helped Robin through a very devastating time in her life.
While her boyfriend, Stone Cates (Michael Sutton), was dying of AIDS, Sonny provided him with the best care possible until his last breath.
Meanwhile, Anna was nowhere to be found. Anna feels guilty because she wasn’t there for her daughter. She claims that’s why she has been soft on Sonny.
It seemed like Sonny and Anna understood each other. He even helped her through a rough time after she accidentally shot Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez). He was there when she needed an ally.
Anna appears just as eager to take down Sonny as John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington). Even though John kept the truth about his connection to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) hidden from her, Anna is still on John’s side when it comes to busting Sonny.
However, Anna has also skirted the law a time or two. She has a shady past as a double agent and didn’t always follow the rules when she worked for the WSB.
Now that she’s police commissioner, suddenly, the lines are no longer blurry, and she claims to see Sonny very clearly now. She will go after Sonny, even if it means that Robin will be disappointed in her actions.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Anna’s Sudden Animosity Shocked Sonny
Her first step is getting Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) on board at the PCPD. Initially, it looked like Dex would try to infiltrate Sonny’s organization again, but that doesn’t seem to be where the story is headed.
Anna has decided to be upfront with Sonny, putting him on notice that he will no longer be able to evade the law. She remarked that she could build a case against him for almost beating Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) to death if she wanted to.
Sonny looked shocked when Anna read him the Riot Act. The two of them know that things aren’t always black or white. Robin, for example, is a good, law-abiding person, but she also sees the good in Sonny.
If Anna’s tirade continues, Robin may return to Port Charles and try to set her mom straight. Anna may be angry with herself for getting close to someone who may have taken advantage of their friendship.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What Are Sonny’s True Intentions?
She may think Sonny only got close to her so he would have a friend on the right side of the law.
But we don’t think that’s why Sonny and Anna have been confidants. The pair are honestly kindred spirits.
Anna opened up to Sonny when she shot Charlotte, and Sonny opened up to her about shooting Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
That being said, Sonny was out of line to push for new charges against Jason. Considering Dante confirmed that Jason didn’t shoot him, Sonny should stay out of it. Maybe Anna has a point, but Robin won’t stand for her mom going after Sonny.
