‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicates that Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas) is getting a little fed up with her hubby, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Is he helping her beat this addiction that has been forced on her or is he getting in the way of her recovery?

Y&R’s Nikki Newman was sober for a long time. It was a challenge, but she conquered her addiction and was living confidently. That is until Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) showed up. Jordan wanted to punish Nikki and Victor for the death of her sister, Eve Howard (Margaret Mason).
Jordan kidnapped Nikki with the help of her great-niece, Claire Grace (Hayley Erin). They started pumping Nikki’s veins with vodka. Although this technically would have killed a person, it just caused Nikki to become addicted to alcohol again.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Hurting Rather Than Helping?
When Y&R’s Victor Newman came to Nikki’s rescue with their children, he swore he would help her on her path to recovery. However, he didn’t help her as a good husband should have. He didn’t get rid of all the alcohol in the house.
He kept the vodka around, which is Nikki’s drink of choice. A person devoted to their beloved’s sobriety would have gotten rid of all the temptation.
Victor also smothers Nikki. She feels that he is always checking on her. She feels that he is always watching and waiting to see if she has fallen off the wagon. This is bothersome to her and makes her struggle even worse.
Victor has also been rather cocky about this situation. When Nikki had a sponsor from AA, Victor just thought that was a dumb idea. If she needed help, she could always come to him.
Victor may also be furious to find out that Nikki has a new sponsor, and it is Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Jack has been his nemesis for ages. It is going to make Victor jealous and angry to find out that Jack is helping Nikki.
He is going to wonder why she has to get help from Jack and not from him. Will Victor be able to put himself aside and do what is best for Nikki or is he going to sabotage her progress? What do you think?
