Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) initial reaction to the serious allegation her husband relayed created an instant response. She was sure that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) had nothing to do with the car accident that took Emma Barber’s (Nia Sioux) life.

Xander Avant (Adain Bradley) returned from Europe and needed to see John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). That chance meeting could prove disastrous for Thomas and, if not, will at least be problematic.
The aftermath of Thomas’ intentional tailgate of Emma on Mulholland Drive included his car’s GPS history being checked. Xander remembers seeing that information on the digital display of Thomas’s car.
While the above is not hard evidence, its circumstantial nature could lead to Thomas being questioned by the police in the future. But Atkinson’s character erased that digital information long ago. So, he and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), who covered his crime, may not need to worry.

Some may describe Emma’s driving as reckless and choose to believe she caused her death. But Thomas’ headlights were shining in her rearview mirror.
Emma told Thomas she knew he was aware of Beth Spencer’s (Jordyn Lynn Ariza) existence. The then-Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and her husband, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), were told Beth died during birth and deserved to know the truth.
The above plot point was reinforced by Liam when he railed against Hope, trusting Thomas earlier this year. Liam remains shocked that Hope has fallen for Thomas, whom she now trusts more than him, her ex-husband.
Plus, Hope is wearing Thomas’ engagement ring as a necklace while she considers his offer of marriage.

Steffy defended her brother and explained why Xander was fired from Forrester Creations. Her opinion about Emma’s car crash won’t alter Finn’s feelings.
Finn does not trust Thomas. Learning that someone believes he murdered another human being increases distrust exponentially.
But Novlan’s character needs more information. So, viewers expect him to seek it by talking with those who were involved in a storyline that has been unearthed on B&B.
