Viewers know that Eric thinks of Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) as his son. He is not quite that because Massimo Marone (Joseph Mascolo) is Ridge’s biological father. But in every sense of the word, including the law, Ridge is Eric’s son.

Kaye’s character is shouldering an impossible scenario. He is not faced with the possibility of allowing Eric to die. Ridge is dealing with the reality of making the decision that is expected to lead to Eric’s imminent death.
Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) believes Eric will die if Ridge does not consent to the experimental treatment plan John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) developed.

The plan Finn said he has been working on for weeks is not guaranteed. Novlan’s character also noted that the potentially harmful effects of what he could do, even if it worked, would be significant.
Ridge is attempting to make a logical decision based on the many times Eric reiterated that he wanted to die with dignity. Eric’s declining state has significantly impacted family members in recent weeks. They also agreed to pretend not to be aware of his grave condition.
It seems cold for Ridge to tell Finn to pull the plug. But that differs from what Kaye’s character is doing because Finn’s plan is no magic bullet, as the doctor said.

It is natural for Donna to be so emotional. She and Eric were once married and got back together recently.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is close with her grandfather. She is surprised that her father is not open to Finn’s efforts. Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) has mixed feelings but backs Ridge.
Viewers can imagine what will happen if Eric perishes and Ridge does not agree to make every last effort to keep the beloved Forrester patriarch alive. This developing storyline is great soap on B&B.
