The Royal Family is notorious for not varying from tradition. These are people who, up until her death, bowed and curtseyed to the Queen, whose couples do not engage in PDA and are not allowed political views.
Meghan Markle Tried to Compete With Kate Middleton
So it should be no surprise that everybody’s least favorite feminist failed in the Firm. Meghan Markle is not the type to uphold tradition. She wanted to use her role in the royal family to modernize the monarchy.
When she was a working royal, she was demanding with the Palace staff and always wanted to do things her way. She wanted equal status with Kate Middleton and made that clear from the beginning.
During the “Fab Four’s” first royal engagement together at the Royal Foundation Forum in February 2018, Meghan took the opportunity to step on Kate by endlessly droning on and on about women’s empowerment.
Meghan dominated the conversation. Kate felt like she was being forced to compete with Meghan. Markle was championing a trendy, modern cause, and Kate’s mental health cause took a backseat.
William told Prince Harry early on to take things slow with Meghan, but he didn’t listen. When Harry and Meghan planned their wedding in May 2018, the Duchess and Princess Kate argued over Charlotte’s bridesmaid’s dress.
It supposedly ended with Meghan sobbing on the floor, but other sources claim that Meghan made Kate cry. Kate likely burst into tears because of Meghan’s infamous bullying.
The Duchess Soon Realized She Wasn’t Going to Get Her Way With The Royal Family
Meghan supposedly had palace staff quitting their jobs left and right. Some of the most trusted members of the Queen’s staff left the palace as they did not want to put up with any more blatant disrespect.
When Kate implored her not to be rude to the staff, Meghan slammed the door in her face. She didn’t take any corrections well.
Meghan wanted to wear one of Princess Diana’s tiaras during her wedding, but Queen Elizabeth wouldn’t allow it.
The Queen urged her to select from a private collection of jewelry. Her goal was to eliminate the chance for any controversy. There was scandal attached to the emerald tiara she wanted.
Instead, the Queen provided her with a stunning diamond tiara for her wedding. Meghan was not shy about letting the whole world know how she felt about not getting what she wanted.
The Duchess behaved like a total narcissist. Instead of choosing the path of service and sacrifice, she took the easy way out. She and Harry wouldn’t have experienced so much backlash if she had put in the effort.
Meghan entered the royal family thinking she could change a centuries-old system that started with the Norman dynasty.
Realizing Meghan wouldn’t get her way; she coerced her new husband to leave the royal family to start a new life in sunny California.
Now, there is a vast divide between Harry and the royal family. Meghan’s reluctance to obey the rules led to Harry turning his back on his family, and reconciliation doesn’t appear to be in the cards any time soon.
