Insiders suggest that Harry and Meghan would accept an invitation from King Charles to be with the family at Sandringham for Christmas.
Harry and Meghan were said to have a lovely phone chat with King Charles on his birthday this past Tuesday. Charles’s grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, treated him to an adorable rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Their performance delighted the monarch and was probably his favorite birthday gift.
King Charles Wants to Spend Time with His Grandchildren
Harry is trying to facilitate a reconciliation, and reportedly, the King wants to spend some time with his grandkids. It seems like a win-win for the royals to try and bury the hatchet, right?

The press has already leaked excerpts, including claims about Queen Elizabeth’s death and how Harry didn’t know until the last minute, and Meghan was not allowed to come with him to be by her bedside.
Harry allegedly didn’t make it in time to say goodbye. If the rumors are true and Harry does accept the invitation, it could spell serious trouble between the two Princes, Harry and William.
The brothers reportedly haven’t spoken much since the Megxit, and they were said to have had an altercation over Harry’s wife, Meghan.
The last Christmas Harry and Meghan spent with the royals was in 2018. They were pictured happily walking next to William and Kate with big smiles. This time was back when The Sussexes were attracting positive headlines.
A source close to the couple suggested that Harry and Meghan would require added protection if they were to go to the UK for Christmas.
Another issue is that if King Charles wanted the Sussexes to come for a family Christmas, they would also need a formal invitation to receive that added protection.
Are Harry and Meghan Serious About Healing Family Rift?
Prince Harry no longer receives police protection when he is visiting England. It was a decision made after he and Meghan stepped down from their duties as working royals.

It would be nice to think the couple genuinely wants to reconcile with the family. However, they are far more likely to choose a different approach to achieve favorable publicity.
Turning the US against the royals didn’t work, so the next logical solution for them would be to facilitate a royal family reunion.
King Charles is said to be a loving and devoted grandfather to George, Charlotte, and Louis, Prince William and Princess Kate’s children. Queen Camilla explains that the King loves to play with his Grandchildren. He tries to be spry and active to keep up with them. No doubt he would give his other grandchildren the same.
Any grandparent wants to be with their grandkids. Even though King Charles is estranged from his son right now, this doesn’t mean this won’t change.
The major obstacle is “Endgame,” which will likely cause a further divide in the royal family. Only time will tell if Harry and the King can resolve their differences.
