Well, relationships never last for long in the soap opera world, and it looks like Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) are splitting up for the first of what ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers expect to be several times.

Over the last year, Spencer has proven himself to Trina and us, but his obsession with Ace and Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) has been like the Sword of Damocles hanging over them and now it finally plunged.

When Spencer’s outrage that Esme would dare find a place for her and HER son wasn’t shared by Trina, he was taken aback. It got even worse when Trina was relieved as she thought they could finally move on with their lives.

So, when Spencer told her she won’t like the result if she makes him choose between her and Ace, she had enough of his bull and ditched him.

    Go, girl!

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Nikolas’ handywork

To be fair, Spencer’s only so ignorant and obsessive because of how Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) abandoned him throughout his life, like pretending to be dead for years and now walking away once again to ensure he keeps control of the Cassadine fortune.

It left Spencer with a lot of issues he’s been unable or unwilling to deal with, and he’s intent on protecting Ace from having the same things happen to him.

Sure, he says it’s to protect Ace from Esme, but would he be so obsessed if Nikolas wasn’t Ace’s father?

This is going to set up a fun showdown at some point, as well as a possibly severely twisted storyline that’ll ensure Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy)’s idea of the Cassadine manipulation remains.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Moving in with Esme

Now that everyone, including Laura Collins (Genie Francis) is on Esme’s side, ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers expect Spencer to do what he can to gain custody of his brother, since having everyone point out they’re siblings repeatedly should eventually sink in.

To do this, we won’t be surprised if he’ll come up with the brilliantly manipulative plan of cozying up to Esme to earn her trust and build a relationship with her.

He’ll then offer to move in with her, and despite Esme probably knowing he’s up to something, she does have feelings for him and will accept.

She’ll be on her guard, so when the topic of adopting Ace together and getting married comes up so he can then try to win custody, we expect things to get ugly and the old Esme could resurface in a form of self preservation.

Oh, Victor would be so proud of the ingenuity, and then smack Spencer upside the head for fumbling the execution.

How far will Spencer go to get Ace away from Esme? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
