Brad Pitt may have the upper hand over Angelina Jolie in their  Chateau Miraval winery case. Pitt is suing Angelina for breaking their contract and selling her share of the business without giving them the option to buy, as per their agreement.
Angelina has cited that she doesn’t want to remain a fixture in the wine business because of Brad’s alcoholism.
Now, she is countersuing him for excluding her when she specifically said she wanted out. Pitt now has the opportunity to win the case with an email from the person who purchased Jolie’s share.
Russian Billionaire Co-Owns Miraval with Pitt
Russian oligarch Yuri Shelfler, who owns the Stoli group, is known mainly for vodka. He now co-owns the winery with Pitt. Before this, Angelina and Brad each co-owned half of the business.
It seems that the two of them had a major falling out due to their custody battle, which has been going on for years.
Angelina reportedly got her panties in a bunch when the custody suit went in a direction she wasn’t happy with, and she “vindictively” sold her share of Miraval.
It took seven years for their divorce to be finalized, and the two spent a fortune in legal fees. According to Angelina, Brad was abusive to her and her kids during a flight to Los Angeles in 2016.
If that is the case, it is understandable why she wouldn’t want her children to be with him, even though the former couple has joint custody. That’s entirely on him.
Miraval was the final straw for both of them. Brad had initially agreed to give Angelina a whopping $54.5 million for her share in 2021.
When the judge, whom Angelina claims is biased, ruled in Brad’s favor, she pointed to the document she filed to include her allegations against Brad.
Jolie says that Brad made her sign a non-disparagement clause. Pitt claims she secretly planned to sell her share behind his back.
Business Decision or Spiteful Action Toward Brad Pitt?
Angelina claims that he misused the estate’s finances. She also claims that she made a business decision, and that was that. However, Pitt believes she purposefully kept him out of the sale out of spite.
Jolie and Shelfler allegedly hid their dirty dealings until Pitt found out. Apparently, an email proves that the two of them were in cahoots.
The letter says,
“Dear Angelina, With this letter, I would like to thank you for the deal we have done. I am happy with the deal despite the current agreement with Mr. Pitt in regard to his attempts to sabotage and avoid signing shareholders’ agreements. I am, however, hopeful that we will eventually become trustworthy partners and will be enjoying mutual business. Should you at any point of time require any assistance from me, please do reach out.” (Phone number)
Shelfler reportedly wants to keep Pitt as a frontman for the company and capitalize on his celebrity status.
The goal for Pitt is to become the sole owner of the business. He wants to have the sale of Jolie’s shares voided, and he wants to take over.
The two Hollywood actors have reached a critical point in the case.
