‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) is setting some boundaries. He realizes that any mistake could cost him everything and this recent situation was too much. He has to be more careful in the future because of all that is at stake.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) Pleads for Help
Audra Charles was in a pinch. When she worked for Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), she followed his orders to make a situation “disappear”. McCall Unlimited was the agent for a musician on tour.
While on tour, the musician had sex with underage girls. While he was eventually arrested and held responsible for that despicable behavior, McCall Unlimited kept it under wraps until the tour ended.
When Tucker learned about it, the musician was already behind bars. Tucker told Audra to “clean it up”. She fired the PR team who had hidden the situation. Then she purged the documentation from McCall Unlimited.
However, two emails that she sent to Tucker from a fake account address were missed. When documentation was purged before the handover to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), those emails remained. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was going through files with his acquisition and discovered this nasty secret.
Adam tried to blackmail Audra with this news. He would spill her complicity in helping with this cover-up unless she convinced Victor and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to support a merger between the former McCall Unlimited and Newman Media. Audra tries but isn’t successful, so she begs Nate for some support.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Uncomfortable Position
Audra and Nate both unsuccessfully pitch the idea of a merger to Victoria and to her mother, Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas). The fact that both of them come with this idea puts the Newmans on guard. They believe that there is more to this than what Audra and Nate claim, which is the benefit of the company.
When they get nowhere, Audra decides to act on Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) suggestion. She goes straight to Victor and Nikki and tells them everything. She tells them that Adam is trying to blackmail her. While a merger makes good business sense, the reason they were asking for it was to save Audra’s reputation.
This puts Nate in an uncomfortable position with the Newmans. They lose some trust in him. Victoria, in particular, can’t believe that he didn’t tell her everything. This reminds her of past betrayals. When he promises to never do this again, it reminds her of past broken promises.
Nate tells Audra he can’t ever help her like that again. He has to stay out of anything that might compromise his future with Victoria and with Newman Enterprises. There is too much at stake.
