‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers: There is yet another new Molly again! Actress Kristen Vaganos has replaced Brooke Ann Smith. There appears to be a revolving door of Mollys on GH, and Vaganos is the latest incarnation of Molly Lansing Davis.

The original Molly, portrayed by Haley Pullos, was arrested with a DUI and driving recklessly. She had a head-on collision with another car on the California freeway.

Pullos seriously injured someone while driving. She had tequila and marijuana in the car with her. Pullos was taken to a rehab facility by her family nearly three weeks after the accident.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Revolving Door of Mollys

After Pullos’s accident in May, Holiday Mia Kriegel was named her temporary replacement. When 39-year-old Brooke Ann Smith took over the role in July, it was meant to be permanent.

However, there was so much heat on Smith playing the role of Molly because of her age. Molly is supposed to be in her mid to late 20s, and even though Smith looks young for her age, she also seems too old to portray Molly.

Brooke Ann Smith’s brother, Mark Smith, took to social media to respond to everyone bashing his sister. He said,

“Brooke is a permanent recast; the original Molly is not returning. The only reason age is an issue is because it’s known. Brooke looks extremely young in real life; it’s quite freaky, actually. She routinely gets carded almost every time. On the show Awkard, she played a 16-year-old high school student at age 30.”

That said, fans did not take to Brooke Ann as Molly for whatever reason.

With so many different Mollys and all the casting changes, it is hard to even care about the character or her storyline. The changes are distracting, and fans cannot develop any attachment to the character or even get used to her.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Molly Might Need to Be Written Off

It is not yet clear if this Molly will be temporary or permanent. It depends on whether viewers respond well to her portrayal.

Also, it is a little unbelievable that for a character that is supposed to be recurring, there is so much buzz around her and her storyline, which doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

Molly’s story right now is supposed to be a front burner, but the character constantly changing doesn’t work for a front burner character.

The new (nu) Molly doesn’t have any experience with soaps. Only time will tell if she works for the surrogacy storyline.

Vaganos does have some acting experience, though. You can find mini-bios on Vaganos throughout the internet. You will see that she is known for her roles in movies, “I Am Lisa,” “Obsessed with the Babysitter,” and “ Dead Wrong.”

    The new Molly

She has also appeared in various series, including “Bulge Bracket” and “Dating After College.” Kristen is also a comedian and has performed with the Upright Citizen’s Brigade. She produced a feature film and has other projects that are in development.

It can be difficult for many actors who have never been on soaps to transition to them, but we should wish Vaganos luck.

If this casting doesn’t work, the writers may need to consider writing the character out with some dignity.
