‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers let it slip that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) may be Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) son.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers tease that Dex may be Karen Wexler’s (Cari Shayne) son with Jason from back when Jason was a Quartermaine.
Karen could have kept the child secret, and no one else knew who the father was. She maybe could have even given up Dex for adoption when he was a baby.
No wonder Jossyln Jacks (Eden McCoy) is so attracted to Dex. It is reminiscent of how Joss’s mom, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), was infatuated with Jason.
Dex could have come to town to settle a score with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) if he blamed Sonny for his father’s death. For years, Jason dedicated his life to Sonny, neglecting his family in the process. What could be even more problematic is that Micheal Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Dex could be cousins. Dex probably would not fit into the Quartermain clan and may resent the family if they tried to force a relationship.
Tracey Quartermain (Jane Elliot) certainly would disapprove of Dex. She sees Sonny as being the scum of the earth. She would not accept a family member working as one of Sonny’s men.

It was interesting that instead of Dex helping Micheal take down Sonny, Carly herself told Dex to protect Sonny and keep him safe.
It enhanced the tension between Dex and Joss about Dex being ensconced in Sonny’s world. Joss agreed it was Dex’s choice, and Dex agreed to do it.
Watching the transition from Dex being against Sonny to Dex genuinely helping him has been fun. Dex seems more dangerous now, in a bad-boy way, giving him much more appeal.

It would also help win the fans over if Dex had familial ties to Jason, one of the most popular characters in General Hospital’s recent history.
How will Joss react when she learns that Dex is Jason’s son?
Dex’s storyline could also open the door for Steve Burton’s return should he ever return to General Hospital.
A good back-from-the-dead story is straightforward for a soap opera to orchestrate. If Jason truly is alive, the payoff would be huge if he returned to Port Charles to find his son waiting for him.
It would also give GH newcomer Evan Hofer some great material to work with. We could watch him interact with his two little brothers, Danny Morgan (Zakary Risinger) and Jake Webber. It would be great to see Dex develop a relationship with everyone he has ties with on the canvas.
It would also add a new layer of interest in Dex’s storyline with Sonny. Sonny would want to do whatever he could for Jason’s son. It would add more depth to their connection.
Not to mention, Burton has expressed on numerous occasions that he would love to return to GH to finish his career by playing the legacy character he created.
Writers could mine so much rich ‘General Hospital’ history for this storyline. No doubt Dex would start to feel about Sonny the way Jason felt about him, and vice versa.
