‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggests that Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) needs to talk to his family about the medical issues he is facing. He has a diagnosis of ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, but he is keeping this information a secret. He needs to share with those who love him, so that they can help him.

    ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Devastating Illness

ALS is a progressive neurological disorder. It begins to impact the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. This leads to the inability to control muscular movements. This rare disease causes muscular issues that worsen over time.

It begins with muscle twitching and weakness. The patient may also have difficulty swallowing or have slurred speech. The devastating part is that ALS will begin to affect all of the muscles involved in the ability to move, speak, eat and breathe. There is no cure for this disorder.

It is very difficult to have this disorder. The patient begins to lose the ability to do the common things that they used to be able to do. They will need care as their muscles won’t be able to accomplish the simplest of tasks.

    ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Under Wraps

Gregory has been keeping this diagnosis to himself. Only a few people know what he is facing. He has been keeping it from his family. He hasn’t shared it with his sons, Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) or Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

His friend, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) knows that he is struggling more. In public he has had a difficult time paying when the bill is due. There are some telltale signs that something is wrong, and even Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) picks up on it.

He falls and it scares his granddaughter, Violett Finn (Jophiele Love). These episodes are going to become more common, and Gregory really needs to tell his family so that they can prepare themselves.

It’s really hard to admit a terrible diagnosis like this. Probably Gregory doesn’t want to burden his family with this news. But it will be much more difficult the longer he waits. They may feel upset that they wasted time and couldn’t do some fun things with him while he was still able. Gregory needs to face the facts and fill his family in. Do you agree?
