‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Protecting Her Mother
Summer’s mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) appeared to her in the park. Summer thought that she was dead. She was shocked and stunned to see her. When she hears the trouble that her mother is in, she promises not to tell anyone about Phyllis. She can’t face losing her mother a second time.
Summer finally breaks down and tells her brother, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). She can’t keep it to herself anymore. Summer has to tell someone, but she makes him swear to keep it to himself. She needs to figure out a way for them to bring Phyllis back to town safely.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Navigating Relationships
Daniel told Summer’s husband, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and her father-in-law Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that Phyllis is still alive. This has changed everything for them. They think that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will walk free right away.
Kyle decides that he will tell Summer because he can’t keep it a secret anymore. But really, she was keeping the secret from him in the first place.
Summer doesn’t let on about this but tires to act like she never knew the information in the first place. She doesn’t have a strong emotional reaction though, which should be a clue to him that she knew this already.
Summer also hears that Kyle has shared this news about her mother with his mother, Diane. At this information, she almost passes out. She can’t believe that all she has tried to do has been wiped out by her brother. Summer can’t understand why her brother would break her trust and do this to her.
