In recent times, the bond between Prince William and Prince Harry has significantly weakened, to the extent that it has become much like King Charles III and Princess Diana’s relationship.
William And Harry’s Bond Has Become Like Charles And Diana’s Relationship-Says Tina Brown
That is according to royal expert Tina Brown. Charles and Diana’s relationship ultimately ended badly, as the monarch had an affair with Queen Consort Camilla. While that may have been the case, there were other issues at play too.
It is claimed that Charles’ envy of Diana was well-known, because of the excessive media attention, when the two of them went to Australia in 1983 during a royal tour.
In some comments made by Diana to Martin Bashir, she said: “Because with the media attention came a lot of jealousy—a great deal of complicated situations arose because of that.” With that being said, there are parallels between William and Harry.
The latter’s memoir was ultimately called Spare, highlighting the fact that Harry did not feel he was an integral part of the firm. Secondly, their bond has become toxic to the point where the Duke of Sussex was very critical of his brother.
He recalled William assaulting him, as well as shouting and screaming at him during a meeting over Megxit. Lastly, in any event, Harry also states that his father wasn’t ready to see Meghan “grab the limelight.”
And that is something that you cannot get away from. Tina’s following comments confirmed as much: “If you are the number one, and you’re going to be the king, you don’t want the more charismatic brother and his more charismatic wife to be out there eclipsing you.
“In a strange way, what William went through was sort of what his father went through with Diana.” There is still time for the brothers to reconcile, but it is going to be harder than first thought.
