Favre has filed a lawsuit against Pat McAfee and Shannon Sharpe, two of the most well-known sports analysts, alleging that they made false and defamatory remarks about him. Shad White, the state auditor, is named as a defendant in one of the cases that Favre filed earlier this week in Mississippi.
The Green Bay Packers icon says in the lawsuits that all three of them defamed him when they discussed his alleged involvement in a Mississippi welfare funding controversy. On his podcast, McAfee allegedly claimed that Favre was “stealing from poor people in Mississippi.” according to Favre. The Hall of Famer asserted that Sharpe made disparaging remarks during an appearance on his FS1 show, referring to Favre as a “sorry mofo to steal from the lowest of the low.”
Regarding White, Favre claims the Mississippi official has been “shamelessly and falsely” criticizing him for months “in a brazen attempt to leverage the media attention generated by Favre’s celebrity to further his own political career.”

Over $70 million that was supposed to help the poor in Mississippi, according to White and his office, instead went to Favre and projects connected to the Hall of Famer. White and his administration are also accused of improper use of welfare monies.
Favre, though, has insisted that “I have done nothing wrong” in the case and has denied any misconduct. The three are being sued by Favre for unspecified damages. In response to the lawsuits, a spokesman for the State Auditor’s office stated on Thursday that “everything Auditor White has said about this case is true and is backed by years of audit work by the professionals at the Office of the State Auditor.” A Dave Chappelle GIF was posted by McAfee in reaction to the lawsuits. Meanwhile, Sharpe has not yet responded to anything.
