Last year, Logan Paul promoted a NFT-based game called “cryptozoo” on the Impaulsive Podcast. He marketed it as a game and even said that kids were getting in on the action. The object of the game is that one invested in cryptocurrency and bought these egg NFTs which would then allegedly “hatch” and you could even breed the animals.
Over $2.5 million dollars worth of these eggs were sold but no game ever materialized. Even though he advertised it on his podcast as a safe way for everyone to get in on the NFT craze and was saying that the investor’s kids were excited to play the game – that was the biggest lie of all because the game never existed.
Is Logan Paul Running A Scam? Promotes An NFT-Based Game On His Podcast
YouTuber Coffeezilla did a three-part expose on the entire scam, in which he interviewed one of the developers of the game, the game developer said that in spite of people investing literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of their hard-earned money in this project, he never received one red cent of it.
You would think that Logan Paul, with as much money as he has laying around would at least be able to pay his game developer a nominal fee for work that was done, but apparently not. The developer ended up having to make the source code private because as it turns out Logan and the gang was trying to get by without paying him so after a lot of text exchanges, the developer just dropped the project.
Of course, to hear Logan tell it, the developer just skipped town and demanded a million dollars for no reason. But that wasn’t at all true. Closer to the launch date, Logan Paul tweeted out some god-awful images that were supposed to be game artwork but looked like panda-bear-shaped hairballs that an AI generator coughed up, in spite of him saying that they had worked on artwork for 6 months… okay but where are you hiding the good pics, eh Logan?
Coffeezilla’s series went viral, which caused Logan Paul himself to respond on Twitter saying that while he appreciated the level of research that Coffeezilla did “all bad actors will be exposed in time” and hinted that he would have something to say on the matter on January 3rd. Today is the second, we’re waiting. Stay tuned!!!
