According to his twin brother Shaquill Griffin, says there is a movie about the former one-handed NFL star is in the works, Shaquem Griffin’s inspirational story may soon be presented on a big screen near you.
The cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars said this week that there was potentially something coming together, but he would not provide any other information on the project. He did, however, mention that he wouldn’t hesitate to play himself in the movie, claiming he has genuine acting talent.
Shaquem Griffin, Former One-Handed NFL Star, Movie Potentially In The Works
Given how unique Shaquem’s story is, the movie would undoubtedly be fantastic regardless of who plays the brothers in it.
If you don’t know, Shaquem had his left hand amputated when he was only 4 years old. Despite this, he went on to become a super football hero, playing for the Seahawks and Dolphins before declaring his retirement earlier this year. In terms of what he’s doing now that his football career is finished, Shaquill informs us that his brother is succeeding and developing into a seriously talented motivational speaker.
“He actually just did his first couple of Fortune 500s and he’s supposed to be going international soon,” Shaquill said. “It’s exciting news, for sure.”
A film following Shaquem and Shaquille from their time in college together, through their journey to the NFL, and the struggles therein would be incredible. Shaquem’s story is definitely inspirational and hearing about his pain and struggles as a child is heartbreaking, but to see how he rose to the occasion and overcame all odds to play in the NFL is truly breathtaking.
This would be a fantastic movie and one I would definitely pay to go to the theater and see. Recently, we just saw Kurt Warner’s ‘American Underdog’ chronicling his rise to success. This might be able to beat even the great Kurt Warner’s story!
