Royal expert Angela Levin has been slammed for commenting on Meghan Markle’s skin colour in a Twitter post.
Royal Expert Angela Levin Branded An ‘Ignorant Ass’ For Commenting On Meghan Markle’s ‘White Skin’
Levin had recently made it clear that she was nauseated by the prospect of Prince Harry calling his own family ‘racist’. This was in response to the fact that Harry and Meghan are set to receive the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Human Rights award for speaking out against ‘the structural racism’ within the Royal Family.
And given that Meghan had made it clear in her Oprah Winfrey interview that someone in the firm had reservations about her son, Archie’s skin colour, without actually naming the person involved, it is fair to say that Angela’s following comments were contentious.
When referencing a post concerning the Duchess of Sussex, this is what Angela had to say: “Look how white Meghan’s skin colour looks.” The Diana Award, a nonprofit dedicated to Lady Diana’s legacy, expressed its outrage at the comment.
Tessy Ojo, its ‘Chief Executive’ made it absolutely clear in no uncertain terms that such comments were not acceptable. This was on the basis that it made no sense to speak about the “skin colour of a person?”
Much in the same way, lawyer Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu felt that there was an underlying motive behind Levin’s comments. Shola bashed Levin for not having the bravery to make it explicitly clear the point she was trying to get across by commenting on Meghan’s skin tone.
After all, that did nothing to address anything that Meghan has been called out for in relation to her conduct. The social media response was very hostile towards Levin. A certain subset felt that Levin’s disapproval for Meghan had led to these comments that were highly inappropriate.
One person wrote: “Racism is prevalent not only in the U.S, but in the UK. This is what you would call Angela an IGNORANT ASS!!” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
