The shocking exit of Matthew Morrison from So You Think You Can Dance really did hit his fans pretty hard. He has been concerned over all of the rumors that have been going around about why he left and one of the biggest rumors is that he was actually flirting with one of the female contestants on the show. The texts that he sent to her apparently made her “uncomfortable”, but Morrison is sharing the real reasons that he left the show.

So You Think You Can Dance: What Happened?

Morrison posted a video on his Instagram account to explain himself and it seemed to be pretty emotional for him to do. He began, “It’s really unfortunate that I have to sit here and defend myself and my family against blatantly untrue statements made anonymously, but I have nothing to hide. So, in the interest of my transparency, I will read to you the one message I wrote to a dancer on the show.”

The message from Morrison read, “Hey, it’s Matthew. If you don’t mind, would love to get your number and talk you through some things.” He then told fans, “I sent this because this dancer and I both share a mutual respect for a choreographer that I’ve known for over 20 years and I was trying to help her get a job as a choreographer on the show. It’s devastating that we live in this world wehre gossip rules and people’s lives are being thrown around like clickbait. I think this is much bigger than me and this story. Gossip is toxic and it is destroying our soceity, and we need to do better.”

The end of the message thanked all of the judges and wished all of the contestants the very best.

When the news broke, Morrison made a clear statement that he was fired for not “following competition production protocols.” The full statement read, “After filming the audition rounds for the show and completeing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly.”

There was an insider that spoke to the press about the ‘inapporopriate relationship’ that he had with this contestant. They called the messages flirty and the contestant didn’t like them.

Gossip is a horrible thing and it is really starting to take jobs from people. It is sad that it has happened to Morrison as well.
