‘Survivor 42’ spoilers find that we need to talk about Lindsay Dolashewich. In what seemed like a filler episode after the double feature merge/unmerge/merge episode of last week, the play went by rote with Chanelle Howell knowing her days were numbered, just as well as audiences did.
The narrative that Romeo Escobar was being paranoid that he was on the “going home” end of the vote was slightly redundant–because there was a very good chance he was going home…if Mike Turner wasn’t so butt-hurt that Chanelle once wrote his name down (no matter that Mike returned the favor as a contingency plan back on Vati, too).
‘Survivor 42’ Spoilers: We need to talk about Lindsay
Other than Drea Wheeler adding to her advantages collection after pulling a Xander Hastings and volunteering to sit out at the PB &J challenge (but actually finding the Knowledge is Power advantage), then being caught slightly red-handed (fun twist- and great way to use up the left over paint Hai Giang didn’t use when Carrie-ing himself)…very little happened during the episode.
However, it could have been a much more interesting episode…if only Survivor could see what they have with Lindsay.
Lindsay has barely been seen on screen with very few confessionals and almost zero strategy or social game shown. Maybe she doesn’t have much to offer on that side (but maybe she does). However, it cannot be denied that Lindsay is a physical beast.
Sure, we all have Johnathan Young to fixate on when it comes to physical prowess (we all know host, Jeff Probst fixates on Johnathan- man-crush much?) but Lindsay sure gave Goliath a run for his money when the two finally had the chance to face off rather than work together.
No one was going to catch Johnathan, we can all resign ourselves to that, but why was there very little focus on how incredibly impressive Lindsay’s feat of physicality was? Heck, even that graceful high dive deserved 12 play backs from different angles. Sure, Jeff gave Lindsay a few props, but where is Lindsay’s “winner’s edit” that almost all Castaways have received by now- keeping at home audiences guessing.
In the final seconds of “Next week on Survivor”, we finally got to see the physical powerhouses discussing game play on the beach, so maybe the yearning to see more Lindsay is an episode too early…but we say it can’t come fast enough.
Do you agree, that we need to see more Lindsay or are you more interested in the castaways you already feel connected to? Let us know your thoughts below and watch Survivor, Wednesdays at 8pm ET on CBS.
