As ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers hit a major milestone before the end of this month, one of only its two original stars looks back on her time on the sudser, the nerves she felt and the actor she believes she owes her Logan legacy to.
Posting a photo on Instagram, standing in front of The Bold’s 35th-anniversary cake and surrounded by silver and black 35th-anniversary balloons, Katherine Kelly Lang left a long caption, detailing her enduring journey from first day nerves to being the longest-running cast member to date.
“I still remember 35 years ago,” she wrote before describing how she was both nervous and excited but mostly hoping she could deliver everything Bill Bell was expecting after he’d hired the young actress.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Star Katherine Kelly Lang Reflects on 35 Years of Being Brooke Logan
“I needed to fully be “Brooke” with all my heart and soul,” she explained before reminding fans of the heavy storyline her character was embroiled in from day one: “Brooke was attacked and almost raped by a few men trying to drag her into their van.”
The queen of the single rolling tear even remembers the car she drove to work on that very first day, laughing about the “old beat-up VW” she parked in her new parking spot on the prestigious CBS lot.
Lang also recalls the extensive dialogue she rehearsed mentally while in hair and make up, but mostly she remember how she felt after hearing the word ‘ACTION’ being called.
“I knew I was in my element. I knew that this is where I belonged. I was home😃”
Next the blonde beauty, who will be turning 61 in July, gave a shout out to John McCook (Eric Forrester), the second B&B star to have been treading the boards of Stage 31 since the beginning.
“Thank you @johntmccook for being such a good friend and actor since day 1. I still give you so much credit that day that I was hired. If I didn’t do the screen test with you, I may not have been there at all. You made me feel so comfortable and loved that I forgot about everything around me and was lost in the scene with you.”
Lang went on to detail how the veteran soap star is not just phenomenal at his job, but is a great friend and is the great and fearless leader the entire Bold team looks up to. “I applaud you for your dedication, your amount of sleepless nights working on stories, the courage to carry things out, and the bravery to make it your vision.”
She finished her post, which also included photos of herself with McCook and Bradley Bell, Bill Bell’s son and the current executive producer of the daytime fan favorite, with a simple, “HAPPY 35 Years!”
Be sure to watch the special 35th-anniversary episode, complete with special guests when it airs on CBS on Thursday, March 24.
