President Joe Biden is continuing to damage Russia’s economy, announcing a ban on Vodka, caviar, and diamonds imported from the country. On Friday, he announced along with the EU and g7, that he will revoke Russia’s “most favored nation” trade status allowing the U.S. and allies to impose higher tariffs on the Russian imports.
It’s important to realize that in all reality, Russian vodka makes up a small percentage of vodkas in the stores of the United States. Many are local or from other countries. A few Russian-made brands include Russian Standard, Beluga Noble Russian Vodka and Beluga Noble Russian Gold Vodka.
President Joe Biden Revokes Russia’s Trade Status – No More Russian Vodka
Just a few years ago in 2019, Russia was the largest goods trading partner of the United States. A majority obviously being oil and gas, which Biden also banned earlier this week. As of the moment, congress still needs to sign off on the ban before it goes official, though that is most likely to happen.
As for some great local vodkas, check out Dan Akroyd’s Crystal Head Vodka, Prairie Organic Vodka, Cold River Vodka, and Blue Ice American Vodka.
Of course, at the moment, the biggest issue is gas prices, so if you have extra cash, it may be wise to save it or stock up on some food before those prices go higher as well. It’s going to be a tough few months at minimum, always good to have food in the freezer and some extra cash should you need gas.
