Jussie Smollett has been placed in a psych ward in the Cook County jail and according to his brother it’s because the official paperwork claims Jussie is at risk of self-harm. Jocqui Smollett posted on Instagram saying, “So Jussie is currently in a psych ward at the Cook County Jail. What’s very concerning is that there was a note attached to his paperwork today saying that he’s at risk of self-harm.”
His brother then made it clear how he felt about the decision and said that there is no way that Jussie is a risk to himself, “I want to make it clear that he is in no way, shape, or form at risk of self-harm. He wants to let folks know that he is very stable, he is very strong, he is very healthy and ready to take on the challenge that… has been put up against him.”

According to law enforcement, the reason Smollett has been placed in the psych ward is that it’s the area where they house high-profile inmates. Smollet is currently serving his 5-month sentence for faking a hate crime and during his sentencing repeatedly told everyone he was not suicidal. He told the judge, he told the court, several times, and is now in a psych ward.
Jussie’s brother said, “This is not right. This is complete lack of justice. So please, make sure you all spreading facts. We really need our people to support us.”
Sorry, your brother broke the law and lied to everyone on the plenty, Jocqui, but he deserves every day he got in prison and some would argue that 5-months is too short of a sentence.
