You have no doubt probably heard of Lia Thomas, the transgender who has been dominating the women’s NCAA swimming events and posing for photos all over the place. With so many people beginning to speak out, there are now celebrities who have finally spoken out about it despite being trashed online almost immediately.
ABC’s ‘Station 19’ actress and former athlete Natasha Ward had spoken against transgenders in women’s sports and was immediately trashed online with people calling her ‘transphobic’ and calling for her to get fired from her show. The actress and fitness model who ran track at the University of California, Irvine weighed in on the topic on her private Instagram page,
ABC’s ‘Station 19’ Actress Natasha Ward Gets Quickly ATTACKED For Speaking Out Against Lia Thomas And Transwomen In Women Sports
She began her post by saying that supporting transfreedom doesn’t mean it’s okay to violate the rights of biological women. She then explained the biological advantage that a biological male would have over women and how competing like that could lead to illegal substance use in order to gain an upper hand on such an athlete.
“The is science. That is fact. Your truth is not the truth when it infringes upon fact and places an undue burden which displaces my rights we have gone too far.”
Of course, Ward was quickly bashed and her Instagram page is now private, however, on Twitter posts people are continuing to slam her for her comments, “Don’t know which is more shocking the fact you haven’t heard of station 19 or that you think she is right. Please come into this century.”, “Trans women are women, they aren’t doing anything against womens rights. And you do seem transphobic”, “she called them men. misgendering.”, and “Based on youre whole fucking page more shit comes out of your mouth than your ass, shut the fuck up.”
Until we stop this, it’s going to continue getting worse. I’m all for people doing what they want to do until it harms someone else. Letting biological men compete against women is harmful. I was a collegiate athlete, and now have two daughters who love sports. However, they are far behind their male counterpart. If it was your daughter losing out to Thomas, you may feel a certain way about it.
