Whoopi Goldberg is “livid” after she was suspended from her job on ‘The View’ over her claims that the Holocaust was not about race and is telling her co-workers that she is going to quit the show! Goldberg, 66, feels “humiliated” at being disciplined by ABC executives following her comments and after she “apologized” for her comments.
She did indeed go on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ though that wasn’t an apology. In fact, she just doubled down and ended the interview by saying, “I’ll just take your word for it.” What? You’ll take our word that the Holocaust was about race? Super… thanks.
Will Whoopi Goldberg Be Leaving ‘The View’ After Her Suspension? Threatening To Quit!
Supposedly she is taking the suspension pretty hard and says she wants to leave the show.
“Her ego has been hurt and she’s telling people she’s going to quit,” the source said. “Suspension from ‘The View’ is like getting suspended from Bravo. The bar is very low.”
As you probably know, Goldberg had everyone in the modern world scratching their heads after she said the Holocaust was not about race because they were white and it was “man’s inhumanity to man.” When she on Stephen Colbert’s show, she doubled down and said the same thing she had already said on ‘The View’. There was no apology to be heard.
This led to Kim Godwin, ABC News president to announce that Whoopie would be suspended for two weeks.
“Words matter and we must be cognizant of the impact our words have,” Godwin wrote in a memo to employees that dubbed Goldberg’s initial comments “wrong and hurtful.”
Apparently, this has angered her co-hosts as well, as they believe it is unfortunate that she was suspended.
I don’t know about you, but I could care less about her ego. Or anyone’s ego for that matter. You said something that was completely ignorant and you weren’t fired, as you would probably call for had someone else said something like that. Take the suspension and go back to work talking nonsense all day.
