To be in Adele’s head while trying to figure out her mind frame right now would definitely be a trip like no other. Adele has recently admitted that she totally regrets canceling her Las Vegas residency – for reasons that still seem to be unclear to her fans – but says that she will reschedule her shows sooner rather than later.
Adele admitted that she wants to reschedule her shows for this year because she plans on having a baby by next year. Here’s what you need to know.
Adele Totally Regrets Canceling Her Las Vegas Residency, Gives Odd Reason For Rescheduling
Adele appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” where she admitted she has regrets over how she handled canceling the show. “I tried my hardest and really thought I would be able to pull something together in time,” she said. “I regret that I kept going until that late in the day. It would have been a really half-a—d show and I can’t do that.”
“People will see straight through me up on the stage and know I didn’t want to be doing it. I’ve never done anything like that in my life and I’m not going to start now,” she continued.
Back in January, Adele announced that she would be postponing her shows in a tearful message to her fans. “I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready,” the star told fans in a tearful update on Instagram. “The sooner I can announce the better, but I just can’t in case we are not ready in time,” she shared. “It is absolutely 100% happening this year. It has to happen this year because I’ve got plans for next year. Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!”
“Half my team have Covid and it’s been impossible to finish the show,” she said, adding that “delivery delays” had also played havoc with her plans.
Despite her apology, her show’s postponement has left many fans who had flown in and booked hotel rooms with no alternatives, and many said they couldn’t afford to return for whenever the shows would be rescheduled. But some music industry professionals noted in reports that the axiom of show business was that “the show must go on,” pointing out that Adele’s show was about her singing and not flying with a harness or other spectacular production.
To make matters worse, Adele has apparently encouraged her fans in one call to buy her merchandise anyway, which includes $50 t-shirts, sweatshirts ranging in price from $90 to $110, and $75 bottles of her favorite Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir wine, which usually sells for $40. Each ticket holder received a free gift bag designed to take the sting out of having her abruptly pull out of her performance.
