There’s a new report that says Adele’s residency in Las Vegas has already been deemed a ‘disaster’ well before the pop star pulled the plug before the opening night. That’s because there were plenty of arguments with the set designer over how the show was supposed to look like. Here’s what you need to know.
Adele’s Las Vegas residency was supposed to run from January 21st until mid-April, but it was all headed for disaster way before she postponed her first night, simply because she was having “explosive” arguments with her A-list set designer, Esmeralda Devlin.

“In spite of the set costing millions to put together, Adele was unhappy with the result, and she made her feelings very clear to Es,” an insider claimed.
“She [Adele] was already nervous and the falling out sent her spiraling into a panic because she was desperate that everything should be perfect,” the source continued.
A second source said that there were “endless changes” to the setlist and running order. “There was no real clarity around what Adele wanted for the show because of the endless changes being made to the production,” the source said.
“It seemed that while she has always preferred a stripped-back performance, she was under some pressure to come up with a huge extravaganza. So there was a constant ricochet between those two versions of what the show should be, and it did cause some quite explosive arguments.”
Despite her apology, her show’s postponement has left many fans who had flown in and booked hotel rooms with no alternatives, and many said they couldn’t afford to return for whenever the shows would be rescheduled. But some music industry professionals noted in reports that the axiom of show business was that “the show must go on,” pointing out that Adele’s show was about her singing and not flying with a harness or other spectacular production.
