Former ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ housewife Jennie Nguyen has opened up in the aftermath of her firing from the show.
‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’: Jennie Nguyen Speaks Out Following Her Firing From The Show
Jennie, for her part, was dismissed in response to the huge backlash she had received following her prior social media posts that were deemed to be racially insensitive on the grounds that they were attacking the Black Lives Matter movement.
Although she would go on to apologise for the posts, coupled with the fact that she did remove them, the very fact of the matter is that it has not been enough to save her.Â
And now that this issue has been resolved, Jennie felt she had to stand up for her beliefs regardless of whether they would prove popular or not.
In an official statement, she said: “I am very proud to be a Republican. I respect your opinion. I respect your political stance. We are different.”
In spite of her defiance, there is no denying that Jennie has become another victim of the cancel culture movement. Her comments were against the orthodox view, and despite her attempts to toe the line, her career has taken a huge blow.
It is not clear where Jennie will go from here, but it is probably wise that she takes some time out in order to take stock of things and make a plan for the future.Â
And given that her fellow housewives had also chosen to express their disapproval at Jennie’s comments, it is safe to say that she has very few friends that she can rely on. Nevertheless, the response on social media was mixed.
While a significant proportion of people agreed that it was the right decision, a few others found that there was an inconsistency when it came to taking action against other housewives that had done similar things.
One person wrote: “How about Erika’s embezzlement issue? Ramona’s constant micro aggressions? Lu Ann’s black face? Literally all of Real Housewives franchises, with the exclusion of RHOA, has racism on its fingerprints.”
