If there’s one thing 2022 Winter Olympics Spoilers have learned over the years, it that sometimes the drama going on away from a sporting event is as interesting or more interesting than what’s happening in the events.

And Leslie Jones became one of those moments when she announced she may stop live-tweeting.

She’s been a staple when it comes to the Olympics since 2016 as she’s shared her excitement by live-tweeting the games and sharing videos of her reactions, but that looks like It’s coming to an end.

2022 Winter Olympics Spoilers: Saying Goodbye

The announcement came as a shock to 2022 Winter Olympics Spoilers and many others given how much she loves the Olympics.

On Sunday, she shared a tweet where she stated: “i m starting to feel like this should be my last Olympics i live tweet. I know I know, another celebrity b—-ing [eye roll emoji] But i’m tired of fighting the folks who don’t want me to do it”

When a fan told her to forget the haters, she made it clear it’s not haters but NBC.

In her statement, she also pointed out how her videos were being blocked and people were being hired to live-tweet like her.

The shock for many is that NBC is her former employer as she was on Saturday Night Live from 2013 to 2019.

2022 Winter Olympics Spoilers: Making Her Mark

Leslie carved out a place for herself when NBC’s executive producer of Olympics coverage Jim Bell saw tweets and invited her to join NBC’s coverage team in Rio de Janeiro where she covered beach volleyball, gymnastics, swimming, and track and field.

She continued her work with the 2018 Winter Olympics and then returned to live-tweeting the postponed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

She’s a proven superfan and athletes and fans appreciate her because it’s genuine. The Olympics are a great place to see athletes young and old compete to fulfill their dreams.

They’re not paid millions to perform like other sports, so they give it their all every time. Leslie’s enthusiasm was sincere and perfect for the games and if she does stop live-tweeting then NBC lost a great asset.

It’s just another blow to NBC between the low ratings and overall boycott of the games from fans due to the controversies surrounding China currently.

2022 Winter Olympics Spoilers are curious where things will go between them and Leslie, but we hope they apologize to allow her to continue doing what she loves without causing any more problems for her.
