The Wonder Years spoilers reveal this show continues to surprise us. Interestingly enough, this episode was directed by original star, Fred Savage (Kevin Arnold). The story was similar to the original in that it dealt with kids coming across material that makes their parents have to have “the talk.” And, funny enough, the material in question also belonged to a parent. Let’s take a look at what happened and some highlights.

The Wonder Years Spoilers: Similar stories

As we mentioned, the plot was very familiar. In the original, Kevin and Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano) get their hands on a book about sex, as they wanted to learn more than what was being taught in the sex-ed class. But they get a huge surprise when Norma Arnold (Alley Mills) busts them on having the book. Her big problem? She thought they’d been going through her things, which obviously implied she had a copy of the book as well.

In the new show, Dean Williams (Elisha “EJ” Williams) are passing around girlie magazines. Deciding to look for his dad’s secret stash, he finds a bunch of magazines and brings them to school. This leads to a talk where Lillian Williams (Saycon Sengbloh) reveals the magazines are hers. There were a couple of fun, standout moments in the episode.

The Wonder Years Spoilers: Girl problems

So, The Wonder Years spoilers reveal we were a bit suspicious of Kim Williams (Laura Kariuki). It looked like she might go down a dark path for civil rights. However, she surprised us with disapproving of the actions her love interest was taking. In this one, she had a fun moment after Dean got the talk.

This is why siblings can be dangerous to parents. See, when she learned about Dean getting the talk, she wanted to compare notes. She asked if they’d told Dean that birth control won’t work if the girl isn’t out of college yet. When Dean said no, she said, “Of course, he didn’t. He saved the lies for me.” Then, she went looking for her dad.

In another great moment with Kim, she was shocked her mother had magazines like that, as her mother made her get baptized again for wearing a bikini. We loved the grown Dean (Don Cheadle) voiceover saying, “Trust me, it wasn’t just about the bikini.”

    The Wonder Years Spoilers: Thief

In other The Wonder Years spoilers, we had the obligatory visit to the Principal’s office after the hall monitor busted Dean and his friends with the magazine. When the principal was handing back the magazines, Dean pointed out one was missing. To which the principal opened his drawer and handed over the over one. We couldn’t help cracking up at the scene, and we’re looking forward to seeing what other fun moments this show has in store.
