Britney Spears has finally claimed victory after she was freed from the conservatorship that controlled both her personal and financial decisions for over a decade. Since her initial share of the #FreeBritney celebration video and a message to fans, the singer’s been quiet. However, she just opened up about the situation again and what her immediate plans are. Here’s what you need to know.

First off, one can imagine (to an extent) what it’s been like being Britney Spears for all this time. People got a glimpse into her situation through the public testimony back in June, and it wasn’t pretty. So it’s no surprise that Britney took a couple of days to soak the news of her freedom in.

On November 15th, Britney posted an image of a lipstick with a fork in it. In the caption, she wrote, “What an amazing weekend … I felt like I was on cloud 9 the whole time!!! I actually got my first glass of champagne at the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever seen last night !!!! I’m celebrating my freedom and my B day for the next two months !!!!!!!!!!! I mean after 13 years … I think I’ve waited long ENOUGH !!!!”
One can’t disagree there! On another note, she gave a shoutout to the man who helped make her freedom a reality. Said Spears, “I’m so happy my lawyer Mathew Rosengart came into my life when he did … he has truly turned my life around … I’m forever thankful for that!!!!” She added how grateful she was to see so many cheering on her victory.
Based on what she wrote, one can imagine we’re not going to see Spears back in the studio (or a stage) any time soon, and it’s definitely understandable. Consider she’s recently engaged as well, and the star finally has a lot of reasons to celebrate and take time for herself and her well-being. We’re glad to see she’s looking happy and ready to enjoy life for a while.

Of course, some fans have wondered if it’s really Britney Spears behind the posts on her Instagram. Especially posts prior to the November 12th Conservatorship termination. Theories ran wild, and someone recently asked her lawyer about the account. He addressed this by saying it’s Britney behind these communications. It’s been clear for a while things changed, and we expect to see more changes ahead for the star. Once she’s done enjoying her new life.

Of course, Britney has made it very clear how much she loves her fans and the #FreeBritney movement that made this possible. And they’ve wasted no time in congratulating her on the big win.
