Now that she’s a free woman and can clearly do whatever she wants with her money, is that really a good thing? That’s what a lot of fans and critics alike can’t help but wonder if history might repeat itself with Britney Spears now that the stronghold that was her conservatorship for 13 years is over.
A judge formally brought Britney’s conservatorship to an end, giving her full control of her life, her finances and her personal decisions again. Britney Spears wrote on Instagram, “I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen.”
Fans Are Worried History Will Repeat Itself With Britney Spears
As many fans know by now, the case was propelled into international recognition by the #FreeBritney movement, many of whom were outside court in Los Angeles on Friday for the hearing.
Of course, many concerned fans took to their social media accounts to write, “I am happy she is free to that ridiculously abusive conservatorship. BUT her IG dancing, outfits, and plastic surgery/smeared makeup makes her look like a puppet or has the 1,000 yard stare. She’s stuck being 16,” along with, “Britney with a real smile is a nice look. If she blows her money, that’s her business now. I think she will, Sam will take half after their divorce, her boys won’t be self-sufficient… She could write a book?”
Another person said, “I’m not optimistic about this. This wasn’t her movement, this was started by fans, and she’s been acting unstable on social media, too. I think she will be dead in a couple years with no one looking after her. This whole movement has been gross, misguided and this is not the best thing for her. She is a sad sack, easily manipulated and can’t care for herself or her kids. Brit needed this.”
And then there was this: “Well, I hope she has some happy times for a little while. Because in less than 3 years, she’s going to be doing a People cover talking about how all her money is gone and she was taken advantage of and why didn’t anyone protect her from these bad people in the world?”
