‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers reveal that as we all suspected, upon being separated from his wife, Ethan Plath is heartbroken. Classic Ethan though, even while he was talking to the Producer in his confessional about what was going on with he and Olivia, he was busily fixing up a motorcycle.
Honestly, it looks like Ethan may just need to be doing something with his hands constantly, maybe that would help him process his thoughts, because that’s what it looks like is going on.

He said that he didn’t really know how bad it was until Olivia had left, and that it felt like something was dying when she walked out, accurate, Ethan. We felt that in our souls.
He did say that while he was heartbroken he couldn’t just lay the blame on everyone else, that he had to look inward too and realize that half of it was his fault as well. This is a very mature thing of Ethan to say, considering where he was in just last week’s airing when he and Olivia were having their heated discussions about things.
(I’m reluctant to say fight because it didn’t read that way on-air but since their discussion remained private then there could have been a huge fight behind the scenes that we don’t know about.)
Ethan has a very real fear though, he’s afraid that whatever happened between them is bound to happen again. Honestly, it might, Rome wasn’t built in a day and marriages aren’t fixed on the fly. Their marriage wasn’t broken in one night so it’s going to take work on both sides to be able to compromise into a fully working unit again.
As of this airing, neither of them know when this separation will end, and then Ethan dropped the biggest bomb of all and did a totally un-Ethan like thing and left behind a note for Olivia… saying that now he needed some space and he would be taking off for awhile.
Where on earth did he go? Did he take that moped and just go on the open road for awhile? Either way, even though Olivia was upset by this, she said that as far as going back to their house she had ‘mentally and emotionally moved on’ and didn’t really want to revisit their house in Cairo. That’s pretty telling. She tearfully hoped that Ethan was safe – your mouth to God’s ears, Olivia, stay tuned!!!
