If you’ve ever wondered what actress, Rosario Dawson and her main squeeze, Senator Cory Booker do on a Saturday night, it’s watch SNL apparently. And both Rosario and Cory are not fans of how the SNL team have been parodying the Democratic senator for New Jersey.
No, it’s not because they are offended snowflakes, it’s because the imitation is…well, it’s not very good.
Comedian Chris Redd has been the actor sending up Senator Booker in recent episodes of SNL’s 47th season. However, it seems he’s been going to the Kenan Thompson school of acting- open your eyes real wide and continually mention the buzz word- in this case, “Cory’s” buzz word is “Rosario Dawson.”
Rosario Dawson Schools SNL on How to Parody Her Boyfriend, Senator Cory Booker
When TMZ caught up with the Death Proof actress and asked her thoughts about the latest send up of Cory- in Congress and speaking with the Facebook whistleblower, Frances Haugen (parodied by Heidi Gardner) she seemed thoroughly unimpressed and decided to give a few “lessons on Cory”.
First Rosario said the show should give her beau “props” for everything he is doing for New Jersey on the Senate floor- from cannabis to police reform. Then she suggested if they wanted to nail his personality, they need to take a lesson from an old SNL cast member- Jason Sudekis.
“I’m really looking forward to someone doing an impression that actually really comes off like Cory,” Rosario claimed. “So, I’m throwing it out there, a little idea: He’s literally like the Ted Lasso of the Senate, so maybe do something that’s kind of a spin like that?”
Rosario has also said that while watching the Won’t You Be My Neighbor- The Mr. Rodgers story, she was 100% reminded of her boyfriend.
So there you go SNL, Cory’s just a nice guy who wants to get high with New Jersey’s finest…or something like that!
SNL airs Saturday nights on NBC.
