TLC ‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers tells that, while Ethan was working on his old car at Intensive Care Auto Repair with Jack, the owner, he and Jack spent some quality time bonding over the hood of his old clunker. Ethan called the car his ‘mistress’ and said Olivia gets mad that he spends so much time working on his car and not with her, but Ethan is truly a product of his raising and thinks that idle hands are the devil’s workshop.
No, he hasn’t said as much but you can be willing to bet that that was taught in the circles he grew up in, it’s clear that he likes to keep busy, whereas Olivia is more the social butterfly of the two.
‘Welcome to Plathville’: What does Ethan want?
Jack asked if Ethan was movin to Tallahassee and Ethan basically said that that move was still all up in the air. They haven’t settled on a place but that probably the move was definitely happening in a few months, however, he didn’t know what he was going to do with his cars.
That was one reason why Olivia was on him to sell one of his cars because I’m guessing that they need money for the move and another thing they won’t have a place to keep it once they do move. But there’s one question that no one has asked throughout this entire series in any of the seasons – what does Ethan actually want?
Ethan said that if he could open up his own garage and work on cars all day that he would probably be the world’s happinest man. That does beg the question though, we know Ethan works on cars in his spare time but what does he actually do for a job? I was under the impression that he worked at the garage full time, or at least he did for awhile. Did he move on?
Is there another garage that he works at now or did he move onto an entirely different career? You don’t often hear about how COVID impacted the auto repair industry but we can only assume that he was off work and quarantined with the rest of us for awhile, which knowing Ethan probably drove him crazy. He looks like the type that wouldn’t like to be kept indoors for very long.
So, if Ethan could possibly open up his own garage in Tallahasse, would that make him feel better about the move? Obviously, he’s probably not in a space where he could do that yet, but if he could he might get to a better, healthier place in his recovery than what we’ve previously witnessed. We’ll see.
