‘The Bachelor’ Gets a New Host- Former Bachelor, Jesse Palmer

The Bachelor’ has found its new host in the form of former Bachelor, Jesse Palmer. Jesse helmed his own season as The Bachelor all the way back in 2004 during the long running dating show’s 5th season.

Jesse will replace Chris Harrison who was let go following the contentious 25th Bachelor season after two decades of assisting the lovelorn-but-hopeful hand out their roses.

While many hoped alum and current mediator on Bachelor in Paradise, Wells Adams would get the hosting gig, the choice isn’t an outlandish one (unlike the guest hosts for the currently airing season of Paradise).

Not only does Jesses have the experience within Bachelor Nation, he’s also proven his hosting chops on ABC’s summer series “The Ultimate Surfer,” and he previously hosted ABC’s Disney Parks’ holiday specials, ABC’s presentation of the NFL Draft and, in 2018, the reality series “The Proposal.” This ABC reality show was also created by “The Bachelor” boss Mike Fleiss.

The former NFL quarterback, has also been a sports commentator on ESPN, and a special contributor on “Good Morning America.”

ABC has released a statement from Jesse who is both excited and “humbled” to be trusted with the role.

“For more than 20 years, The Bachelor has brought the world dozens of unforgettable love stories, including at one time, my own,” the 42 year old stated. “Falling in love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from firsthand experience and I am grateful to play a small part in his journey.”

This time around it will be Clayton Echard doling out the roses. While we have not met Clayton yet, we will soon see him as a contestant on Michelle Young’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Production is beginning now on Clayton’s season and we’re pretty sure we know what Jesse’s first piece of advice for the new Bachelor will be… get the girls’ names right.

Back in ’04 when Jesse was a wee 25 year old looking for love, he flubbed a name, saying Katie instead of Karen. When the wrong women stepped forward he realized his mistake and, after a truly awkward (and tv magical moment)  Karen got the rose and Katie the pity rose, both of them staying. Way to have dignity, Katie!

His second piece of advice might be to choose wisely, and listen to your heart. Jesse gave his final rose to Jessica Bowlin but did not propose. It seems whatever stopped Jesse from sliding a Neil Lane sparkler on her finger was a thing– the two did not last. Jesse is now engaged to model Emely Fardo.

Before we see Jesse remind OG viewers why we fell in love with him, and will surely win the affections of newer viewers, we will see Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe tag team hosting duties once again for Michelle’s Bachelorette season that will premiere on ABC on October 19.
