From TLC’s Sister Wives, Meri Brown has been working hard to boost her LuLaRoe business. This is a women’s fashion company that started as a leggings dealer and now sells everything from sweaters to jeans. Meri has been working for them for years and has been pretty successful.

She has started to get a lot more backlash about her business because it does work in a pyramid scheme type of way. The more people she can get to sell the clothing, the more money she will make in the end. This has been an issue in a lot of MLM companies and now Meri is in the hot seat.

    ‘Sister Wives’: Meri’s Career Choices

Meri seems to have bad luck with her career choices and we have seen her crash and burn in almost everything that she has worked for. She still owns a bed and breakfast in Utah and she goes back and forth to help take care of it. This is one of the reasons that many of her fans feel that she can’t quite cut ties with that state.

Christine Brown also sells LuLaRoe and both women seem to do well with it. On Meri’s Instagram account, her bio reads, “Independent LuLaRoe Fashion Retailer.” This company has made over $1.8 billion since it first began in 2016. There are about 80,000 independent retailers who sell these clothing items and the market is very saturated currently.

LuLaRoe has been charged with being a pyramid scheme though. It is a multi-level marketing company and generally, these types of companies are considered to be pyramid schemes. In 2019, the company was sued for misleading the income that representatives would make.

“LuLaRoe tricked consumers into buying into its pyramid scheme with deceptive claims of high profits and refunds for unsold merchandise… It’s time to hold LuLaRoe accountable for its deception.” The company paid out over $4 million to finally settle the lawsuit. Meri’s fans were very upset that she still worked for them after this all came out.

Meri continues to work for LuLaRoe and there are still many retailers that have stood by the company. It looks as if they must be the ones who are really making the money because there have been many retailers who have left the company after not making any money whatsoever. This is why Meri’s fans don’t get why she is still with them.

You can keep an eye on Meri, while we wait for the new season to start, on her Instagram account. She frequently pushes LuLaRoe, but also keeps us updated on her life.
