Katie Thurston has opened up on the struggles that she is going through, given that her fiancé, Blake Moynes, is not from the same country as her.

‘The Bachelorette’: Katie Thurston And Blake Moynes’ Visa Issues Are Complicating Things

Katie, for her part, is American, while Blake is a self-professed proud Canadian. Naturally, if he wants to spend time with Katie in the US, visa restrictions are going to play a huge part in that.

And the pandemic is only going to complicate things with new rules and slower processing times coming to the fore. Katie, though, has yet to find a way around that.

In a post to her fans on Instagram, she said: “I don’t think people fully understand what it’s like to date someone from another country and the rules behind that and the visas behind that. We really do have a lot we have to look into — and we just haven’t yet.” In addition, Katie admitted she has not made an extensive plan as to what the pair will be doing next.

It is clear that she will have to get married to Blake, as that will be the most likely option that will allow either of them to obtain a spousal visa. And yet, there is nothing to suggest that they will be walking down the aisle anytime soon.

That is why Katie pleaded with her fans to offer her some much-needed advice. She added: “I am curious, if you are dating somebody from another country — whether Canadian to US, US to Canadian. I would love to know your experiences with that, in terms of all that fun legal stuff that we are holding off on.”

Katie had wanted to relocate to San Diego, California, but before they decide which is the best course of action to take, they are feeling out both countries before making a final decision.

She continued: “We are experiencing both home countries together before we plant roots anywhere officially.” This is going to be a hurdle that the couple will have to overcome, and either way, one of them will have to move away from their family. We will have to see how this will all play out.
