Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes have just gotten engaged following the season finale of The Bachelorette, but it seems that this could be just the start.

The duo walked away from the show after what had been one of the most controversial endings in recent history. There were allegations made that Katie only chose Blake because she did not want to walk away from the show in humiliation following Greg Grippo’s exit.
But it seems the couple are looking to put the haters in their place once and for all, as the pair could consider getting married soon. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Katie shared a screenshot of a text message between herself and her sister.
The message said: “How soon do you guys plan on getting married?” to which Katie replied: “Not soon at all. He’s Canadian… So we have a lot to work through first.”
Being married was something that Katie always cherished. After all, she made her position very clear in her comments post the show by stating she might not have been with Blake had he not proposed an engagement.
She wanted to be with someone who was ready to commit, and by Blake getting down on one knee, she knew she made the right choice. In a prior interview with Us Weekly, Katie remarked: “It’s hard to say…if he didn’t propose. You go through so much, and you want to take this very seriously, and a proposal and engagement is very serious. I didn’t come here to find a boyfriend.”
With that in mind, it is clear that Katie will be looking to get married as soon as possible. The pandemic is not going to make that any easier, though, but the support of her family will downplay any worries that she may have.
Katie’s mother and aunt are now fully on board with her relationship, as they were initially concerned about what Blake had in store for the future. Regardless of when the wedding does go ahead, the fans will be there to support the couple every step of the way.
