‘The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B)’ spoilers find that Forrester Creations may be losing one of its CEO’s…at least temporarily.
Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) shared the news with a Dutch newspaper than he has already spoken with executive producer, Bradley Bell about taking an extended leave of absence from the sudser.

Bell has apparently agreed to write legacy character Ridge off the show for several months so Kaye can travel with his family, wife Susan Haskell (ex-Marty Saybrooke, One Life to Live) and their two daughters, McKenna (17) and Marlowe (14). Kaye’s native Germany is first up for the actor who was born in Frankfurt as Thorsten Ernst Kieselbach.
“I spent my childhood in Mainz, on the Rhine,” Kaye said. “I still have family living in that region. I hope to go there with my wife and two daughters in search of our roots,”
Kaye may be able to use his frequent flyer points to get his family to Europe. Currently The Bold and the Beautiful films in Los Angeles, yet Kaye’s family lives in New York- and have been for the entire eight years he has portrayed the ‘dress maker’ on the CBS staple.
“I now know all air hostesses personally,” Kaye laughed even admitting to inviting his inflight friends to set!
Though Kaye and his wife discussed moving from the east coast to the west, in the end they decided Hollywood was not the ideal place for their daughters to grow up.
“I think it’s pretty blasé here. The temptations here are too great for teenagers in my opinion.” He explained, adding, “In Hollywood, it is not so important what you can do or how you are, but the outfit or designer clothes you parade in the street with. This is not the real world to be honest. I don’t really feel at home here either.”
While Kaye will be getting his opportunity to leave La La Land behind for a while, don’t say your goodbyes to Ridge just yet. This extended vacation won’t be happening until 2022 or even 2023. Plenty of time for Bell to figure out a dramatic way to have Ridge disappear from our screens for a few months!
