‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’: Erika Jayne’s Husband Tom Girardi’s Law Firm Approved for $1.5 Million Pandemic Relief Bailout!

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ find that Girardi Keese, the law firm of Tom Girardi– the estranged husband of Real Housewife, Erika Jayne–has been accused of embezzling millions of dollars, yet they were approved for a $1,503,000 loan with the Paycheck Protection Program.

This federal government Covid-era loan was created to help keep businesses afloat during the pandemic. Girardi Keese, a multi-million dollar Los Angeles based law firm, had a total of 84 employees. In April of 2020 their PPP application was approved as a way to float the payroll for these employees.

The law firm filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in December. It is not known if the firm received the PPP loan before Girardi’s partners shuttered Giradi Keese’s doors and sued their ex-partner for embezzling upwards of $20 million from clients.

If the law firm did receive the loan, its uncertain if any of the employees benefitted from the PPP. Especially if Girardi was in charge of payroll.

In the course of the lawsuits that have cropped up in the embezzlement and bankruptcy cases, a further $20 million was found to have been funneled into Erika Jayne’s business accounts, including for one business that was created after bankruptcy was filed and news of the embezzlement scandal broke.

Hulu’s documentary, The Housewife and the Hustler played recordings of Girardi’s deposition in September 2020, just five months after the firm applied for the government bail out.

“At one point I had about $80 million or $50 million in cash,” Girardi claimed. “That’s all gone. I don’t have any money. I also had a stock portfolio of about $50 million, and that’s all gone.”

Girardi and Jayne divorced less than two months later. They have been accused of doing so in order to protect their assets.

Jayne has been adamant she knew nothing of Girardi’s embezzlement and claims she divorced her husband of over 20 years because the two had ‘grown distant’.
