Well, he might not be wrong here. Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas Markle Sr. says that Oprah Winfrey might be using his daughter and Prince Harry. This comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with the Queen of all Media in an epic interview in which they threw the entire royal family under the bus.
If that weren’t enough, Prince Harry also opened up to Oprah about his childhood problems in their new Apple + series, The Me You Can’t See. Here’s what he has to say.
Thomas Markle Sr. Says Oprah Winfrey Is Using Prince Harry And Meghan Markle
Thomas, who hasn’t spoken to Meghan ever since he failed to show up to her royal wedding to Prince Harry back in May of 2018, gave an interview with 60 Minutes Australia in which he said that Oprah seems to be taking advantage of Harry in what he thinks is a “weakened state.” Thomas also thinks that Oprah is using the couple to benefit her own career.
He said, “Oprah Winfrey, for one, I think Oprah Winfrey is playing Harry and Meghan. I think she’s using them to build her network and build her new shows. I think she’s taking advantage of a very weakened man and getting him to say things that you just shouldn’t be saying on television.”
This comes after another member of the Markle family – speaking on the condition of anonymity – says there’s a very slim chance that Meghan will ever speak to any of her family members ever again.
“We’re clearly in different social classes, and we won’t ever talk again,” the family member said.
If that weren’t enough, the family member said that this estrangement was Meghan’s choice. “I’m not chasing after someone that doesn’t want to talk to me. I have my own family and we couldn’t be happier sharing the love that we have. So in other words, I couldn’t care less,” said the family source.
What’s more, no one from the Markle clan plans on reaching out to Meghan as they believe that she won’t respond to them, making the chances of a family reunion happen next to none. With that said though, the Markle family is doing just fine, with or without Meghan in their lives.
