Meghan Markle might be one of the most hated women in the UK but at the same time, she might also be one of the most respected. There’s a new poll that suggests the Duchess of Sussex is far more respected than her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. Here’s what you need to know.
As many royal fans already know, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from their royal duties in a move that has since been dubbed as ‘Mexgit’ back in 2020.
Despite all of the backlash and criticism that they’ve received since, it turns out that Prince Harry and particularly Meghan Markle are still help in high esteem by some people out there.
New Poll Suggests Meghan Markle Is Far More Respected Than Kate Middleton
One poll by Stem4 says that Queen Elizabeth tops the list of people in the British Royal Family who are the most respected.
The Queen polled at 26 percent while Meghan Markle wasn’t too far behind at 21 percent. Prince Harry, meanwhile, was at 21 percent as well, and a significant proportion more than his brother Prince William, who came in at 11 percent.
Meghan also bested Kate Middleton by the same margin. 1032 people between the ages of 13 and 25 were quizzed for the study.
Dr Dr Nihara Krause had this to say about the results: “To earn the respect of young people today you don’t need to earn a fortune or have good looks. It’s far more important that you show bravery, resilience, and compassion for others and for nature. Those are certainly qualities the Queen shares with some of the other names on this list such as David Attenborough and Marcus Rashford.”
With that said, a petition has been making its rounds on the internet to strip both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from their royal titles.
And apparently, it’s already been signed by more than a thousand people. While it seems like young people do respect the Sussexes, others would rather not see them around anymore.
