Talk about a royal headache. There’s a new report that suggests royal staffers behind the scenes would rather not see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle come back to London for Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee next year to celebrate 70 years on the throne.
While there are reports that say Prince Harry definitely wants to make it to London for all of the celebrations, royal staffers are concerned over how they are expected to keep the Cambridges away from the Sussexes. Here’s what you need to know.
A program of events featuring a parade, street parties and a live concert at Buckingham Palace will take place during a four-day holiday weekend in June of 2022 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne.
Royal Staffers Don’t Want Prince Harry And Meghan Markle To Come Back To London
The Jubilee plans were revealed by the Palace on Wednesday, and feature a full slate of events in June that will likely be attended by the public.And yes, the Queen is really hoping that her grandson Harry and his wife Meghan can make it for the festivities, too.
But if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do decide to come, it will leave event organizers with a huge headache over how they are supposed to separate Harry and Meghan from Prince William and Kate Middleton and everyone else from the royal family that the Sussexes have thrown under the bus in recent weeks.
One insider put it this way, “Harry wants to be there. It is already causing a headache and is going to be very awkward. Where will they be positioned if they turn up? What events can they attend? Will we put them on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the flypast? This is a celebration for the Queen’s 70 years of service to the nation and should not be overshadowed. There are now so many questions about what to do with Harry and Meghan.”
So far both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not made any comments about their future travel plans.
